CHANNELLING MY INNER LAGERFELD.
To channel is to allow a certain inner desire to flow through your veins and to finally take over within a short period of time until you reach the state you've previously longed for.. To channel means to use your very own energy, ability, deep feelings from within or ideas for a particular purpose. It is usually used and performed by actors who need to slip into a given role to be able to deliver a perfect show but it also happens in our daily life.. Just take a look around and observe you fellow human beings and you'll know exactly what I mean.
There are many situations in life where we find ourselves channelling certain characters, sometimes given and borrowed from things we have read or seen such as movies and TV shows, and we end up channelling this one character in numerous situations and ask ourselves. "What would Blair Waldorf do?" The result is usually followed by us slipping into Waldorf's high heels (and let's be honest every girl has always dreamed of switching lives with Blair one or twice only to possess and wear all the pretty clothing pieces she owns and to be able to spend some time with the handsome boy-toy: Chuck Bass) and offering the move she would offer ever so naturally too. Simple as that. We human beings are so adaptable if we want to be.. almost like chameleons if you want to say so. We might dislike changes from time to time but yet we welcome new challenges and moments in which we are allowed and feel safe to perform our own show.
To me, slipping into different roles and sometimes even different worlds, is a lot of fun. And this time I have decided to channel my inner Lagerfeld which happens 90% of my life since I am thoroughly inspired by the German fashion designer, artist, and photographer. Black, white, leather.. Always classy and never trashy. The head designer and creative director of the fashion house Chanel as well as the Italian house Fendi and his own fashion label, knows exactly how to please one's eye with his unique and timeless creations.
